The Global Telecommunications Company's World Headquarters is a five building complex served by a Central Utility Plant. The system supports one of the Company's most critical data centers, and supporting telecommunications for the Federal, State, and Local governments to include a number of downtown business telecommunication needs. The project required the facility remain operational during the entire process.
DFW Consulting Group provided the MEP engineering services for this mission critical project which consisted of upgrading the capacity and reliability of the central utility plant as well as improving the operating efficiency of the plant. One 800-ton and three 1,500-ton water cooled centrifugal chillers were replaced with four new 2,000-ton water cooled centrifugal chillers, fourteen 600-ton cooling towers were replaced with fifteen new 670-ton cooling towers, and an existing 2,000-ton water cooled centrifugal chiller was completely refurbished.
