Como Community Center
The Como Community Center is a 25,000 SF facility that includes classrooms, activity rooms, a demonstration kitchen, computer lab, senior activity area, improved administrative offices, Community Action Partners social service office, fitness area, gymnasium, outdoor areas, and a special event space.
Mechanically, the new building is served by four rooftop units, and two energy recovery units. Fan powered terminal units and cooling only terminal units are zoned throughout the facility. A kitchen hood, grease exhaust, and make up air fans serve the demonstration kitchen area. All equipment and ductwork throughout the building was coordinated with Architectural and Structural elements in three dimensions with the use of Revit software.
Electrically the facility is served by an 800A, 480V, three-phase electrical service with step down transformers to accommodate 120/280V panels and general-purpose receptacles. An external surge protective device (SPD) is provided at the main service panel to protect all downstream equipment. A fault current model was created and depicted on the drawings to ensure all equipment is rated properly. The utility transformer location and service entrance conductors were coordinated with Oncor and indicated on the site plan.
